I noticed recently that my ChatGPT answers were becoming full of the em dash (—) and often the word “delve”. I thought it was just me until I realized several friends also noticed the uptick in em dashes as well. Well, here’s how to fix it.

If you're using ChatGPT, then do yourself a favor and write this prompt:

Save this: Don't respond with an em dash (—) or the word "delve" in any response.

This will update your ChatGPT profile to ensure these two writing styles will be removed from ChatGPT answers.

Em Dashes and “Delve” are dead giveaways for doing Copy Pasta directly from ChatGPT into Reddit, X, etc.

It is either that Reddit is full of people Copy Pasta’ing directly from ChatGPT or bots answering directly. Either way em dashes are taking over in content.Have a look at the rise of the em dash (—) on Reddit since May 2024 in the GitHub repo linked below.
