Happy last Friday of June. Let’s Go!!
This week I’m still deep diving on automation with n8n. I’ve made some significant progress with my project and should be able to share it next week.
In other news, I’ve signed up for Google Gemini Pro with the hopes of using the new VEO3 video generation tool…Of course, it is not yet available in Switzerland. <Activating VPN>. I will report back on the Gemini features once I get it up and running.
Here’s this week’s Byte Newsletter.

🪐 Elon Musk’s X Bans Hashtags in Ads…Because, Why Not?
X (formerly Twitter, btw how long will we have to do this?) is stirring things up again, this time by banning #hashtags and trending topics in its paid ads. Elon Musk says it’s to “clean up the platform,” but advertisers are baffled, and critics say it’s just the latest in a string of oddball decisions.
🔗 #NoHashtagsAllowed: Brands can no longer include clickable hashtags or trending topics in any ad on X. Marketers call this “unprecedented” and “limiting.”
🤯 Ad World Confused: Hashtags have been central to social campaigns for over a decade. Removing them? Nobody saw that coming.
🪓 Elon’s Rulebook: Musk is personally overseeing changes on X, and this move is all about “reducing spam,” according to insiders.
📉 Advertisers Getting Restless: With constant rule changes and falling ad revenue, brands are wondering if X is still worth the spend.
I personally like hashtags and still use them. Are they helpful? Probably not, but I still get a kick out of them. Reminds me of the old Jimmy Fallon skit about Hashtags
🧑💻 GitHub CEO Says Junior Engineers Are Here to Stay!
While everyone’s worrying that AI will take all the entry-level tech jobs, GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke just dropped a reality check: companies will always need junior engineers. AI is impressive, but humans still hold the edge in creativity, collaboration, and on-the-job learning.
🌱 Fresh Talent Needed: Dohmke says junior devs bring new ideas and energy, something you can’t automate.
🤝 Team Players: Entry-level engineers learn fast, adapt quickly, and keep teams connected to the latest tech and trends.
💡 AI is a Tool, Not a Replacement: Companies want humans who can use AI, not get replaced by it. Dohmke says AI will make junior roles even more critical, not less.
🔮 Future-Proof Your Skills: The next gen of engineers will work alongside AI, not in competition with it.
Bottom line: Junior engineers aren’t going anywhere. In the age of AI, real-world smarts, curiosity, and teamwork are still your golden ticket.
🥊 Microsoft is struggling to sell Copilot to corporations because their employees want ChatGPT instead.
Microsoft is going all-in on Copilot as its enterprise AI solution, but a growing rivalry is underway, as most internal Microsoft users still prefer ChatGPT. Although Microsoft owns a significant stake in OpenAI, these two AI titans are now locked in a fierce tug-of-war for dominance.
🤖 Copilot Everywhere: Microsoft is aggressively promoting Copilot across its platforms, aiming to establish it as the leading AI assistant for work.
🗣️ ChatGPT Wins Hearts: Despite the Copilot push, users consistently flock to ChatGPT for its more intuitive responses and friendlier interface.
🔥 Tensions at the Top: The partnership between Microsoft and OpenAI is becoming strained as each company tries to outshine the other in the enterprise AI space.
💼 The AI Showdown: Businesses are now stuck navigating both Copilot and ChatGPT, two tools from supposed “partners” competing for attention.
Bottom line: This is no ordinary collaboration; it’s a full-on rivalry. As Copilot and ChatGPT battle for the AI crown, users are left wondering who will win…and who will get left behind.
Last spring, Amgen Inc. made headlines by announcing it would roll out Microsoft’s Copilot AI assistant to 20,000 employees a big win for Microsoft’s multibillion-dollar bet on generative AI, with Amgen featured in three glowing case studies.
Fast-forward thirteen months: Amgen staff have quietly switched over to the competition, OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
🖤 Microsoft Makes It Official: The “Blue Screen of Death” Turns Black!
After decades as the infamous blue omen of computer doom, Microsoft has officially switched the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) to a black background in the latest version of Windows. It’s a bold move, and honestly, nobody saw it coming.
🟦➡️🖤 Classic No More: The once-iconic blue error screen is now black, leaving techies everywhere feeling nostalgic (or just confused).
🪲 Same Old Problems: The error messages haven’t changed—just the color. Crashes are still crashes.
🎨 Why Black? Microsoft says it’s to match the new look of Windows, but users are divided on whether it’s a sleek update or just change for change’s sake.
😱 The Internet Reacts: Memes, jokes, and hot takes are flooding in as people mourn the loss of a tech legend.
Say goodbye to the classic blue and brace yourself for a new era of Windows errors. Black is the new blue!
I’ve mentioned at least 200 times during conference presentations, jokes on X, or general jabs at Microsoft and the BSOD. I guess it’s finally time I update my jokes.
